Eddie Botha is a multi disciplinary artist whose artwork addresses themes of interaction. Interaction between humans, nature and technology are the main focus, whilst touching on socially relevant issues. He uses a mixture of materials ranging from collage and painting to electronic components built into decorated sculpture. Ink drawing is his preferred medium.
He has participated in numerous international biennales and his works are held in several international and esteemed private collections all over the world. He recently presented a sold-out show in Melbourne Australia, where he resides. Eddie continues to push the boundaries of his Art, producing public artworks and Art on commission.
Originally born in South Africa, and having resided in Malaysia for many years earlier in his career, his work reflects a vast array of cultural experiences. Originally trained as a graduate landscape architect, the prominence of line work established in his work alongside his love and understanding of nature. Combining humour and confronting new ideas in his work, he hopes to have a positive influence on humanity and to make people realise that there is usually a better way to live and be.
Eddie is always keen to collaborate with others and loves experiencing other cultures.
